As the company successfully grew after the first years, they added home insurance and commercial insurance to the services the company offers. It happened primarily by customer demand for such additional services.

The most recent big endeavor of Farmers insurance was the acquiring of Foremost Insurance Company in March 2000. The company that is located in Michigan it’s a huge name when it comes to insuring specific products such as travel trailers, mobile homes, motor homes and similar.

Farmers insurance also counts with an efficient program of improving communities where agents, employees and even customers live and work. The company has a very effective institutional support to improve civic participation, safety and educational opportunities across the country, in several different communities. Numbers show how much this effort is effective: in 2000 alone, Farmer insurance employees raised nothing less than the amount of $1,5 million invested in several social causes and also donated 75.000 hours of volunteer work to diverse projects. One of the most important projects ran by Farmer insurance is the “American Promise”, which consists in a program of videos and a citizenship education curriculum to share with both teachers and students the stories of people who improved their own communities.
